Today we explore Chrysalis Vineyards in Middleburg, VA as our Winery of the Week.  It was a beautiful, sunny day which can only help a visit to a winery.  As usual we arrived exactly at opening time.  This time there were more people there then when we usually arrive somewhere this early.

The approach from the highway is along a wide, well maintained dirt road.  Driving through the pastures and crops added a unique twist that we haven’t experienced at other wineries we have visited.  At the end of the road, perched on top a hill is the main facility.  The building is very attractive and parking was ample of the day we visited, even in mid-afternoon.

There are two windows where you can purchase food and wine (inside the building is still closed due to COVID 19).  One is by the entrance, the other is on the rear of the building near the large seating area.  No reservations required.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One of the reasons we chose to visit was to try the pizza.  We order two pizzas (they are pretty large) and the pizza flight (four personal size pizzas).  All of the pizza was delicious and a nice change from the usual winery food offerings.  We also, of course, ordered some wine.  The wine was good, the pizza was great, and the setting was very relaxing.

One of the interesting things about this winery is the variety of seating options that are available.  Pets and children are welcome and it seems like there is seating to please anyone.
