Today was another perfect weather day. By the time we reached Fintra this morning it was already 20º. I dropped Sarah and the children at this beautiful blue flag beach and went into Killybegs to the Vodafone shop and also to pick up dinner supplies at Supervalu for our dinner guest tonight.
The woman working in the phone shop was wonderful and efficient. It is so wonderful to not have to go to Letterkenny for a phone! In addition, I found everything on my shopping list at Supervalu! I even found a cap for my poor sunburned head. With my purchases in hand I texted everyone my new phone number and returned to the beach and picked up my family.
After a little bit of hurling, we ate lunch on the picnic table at the house and prepared for the afternoon arrival of our house guest. After picking up our friend Éamonn and getting settled, we set off for the Silver Strand (An Trá Ban). As we passed through Maláinn Bhig, Liam (9), who was wearing my new Donegal GAA hat, got a double thumbs up from the local children. When we arrived at the Silver Strand I was shocked to find a full car park.
The parking lot had lots of people milling around, but when we climbed own the stairs to the beach there weren’t very many people there. It was an incredibly beautiful day and we all had a great time.
Then it was back to the house to eat and enjoy each others company.
