After receiving the occasional question about “When is the next O’Donovan/Donovan Clan Gathering?”, I am pleased to inform you that there is one planned for 2020. I’m not sure how many of you have been around here since 2004, but that is when Trips With Kevin began. After attending the 2000 O’Donovan/Donovan Gathering (one of the best experiences of my life) I had always intended to make a web-page about my adventure. It took a few few years but eventually I did and it was well received.
After receiving such positive feedback, I decided to expand and started tripswithkevin.wordpress.com in 2011 (here was the first new entry). We were fortunate that again there was a positive response and so we moved to tripswithkevin.blogspot.com. After five years at blogspot, we finally moved to our current location, TripsWithKevin.com. Since the whole thing began with the 2000 Gathering, I am excited that we can finally report on another Clan Gathering!
O’Donovan/Donovan Clan Gatherings
After the success of the Clan Gathering in 2000, a follow up was held in 2005 in Boston. Unfortunately, I was in Ireland attending Oideas Gael during that one so I missed it. Now, after a 15 year hiatus, planning for the 2020 Clan Gathering is under way. You have two years to start planning – so get on with it! If it is anything like the original you will be glad that you attended.
How do I register for the 2020 O’Donovan/Donovan Clan Gathering?
